Homeless Animals Find Refuge with Animal Aide
By leaving a legacy to Animal Aide in your will, you help ensure that the lives of helpless and homeless animals will be saved. Together with the volunteers of Animal Aide you can make the difference in a life that otherwise would be purposelessly and needlessly ended.

Animal Aide is the only animal welfare organization in the area that has as its mission "no-kill". The city-operated shelter for stray and abandoned animals is full of dogs and cats who have not been retrieved by their owners or adopted. Animal Aide is pleased to co-operate with the City of St.Thomas Animal Control to avoid the euthanasia of these homeless animals.

There can be no justification for euthanizing animals who are homeless or abandoned. Animal Aide believes that there is no reason these animals should not be given the opportunity to live and ultimately be placed in loving homes. Over 700 animals that faced certain euthanasia were adopted through Animal Aide last year. That’s truly amazing.

The directors, members and volunteers will go to any length to save abandoned animals. Animal Aide is an organization comprised of a small army of volunteers. There are no paid staff at Animal Aide. Cats are sheltered at the Cat Adoption Centre located at 333 Talbot Street, St. Thomas. Dogs under the protection of Animal Aide are boarded at commercial kennels, at great cost to the organization. Many volunteers foster cats, kittens and dogs in their homes until permanent homes can be found.

The financial challenge of providing shelter, food and vet care for these hundreds of cats and dogs is overwhelming. Animal Aide raises funds strictly through financial contributions of individuals and community groups. The need is great, the cause so worthwhile. With your help, we can do it.
