Mia's new family writes ...
Two months ago I adopted "Niner" who has since changed her name to Mia. Mia She is such a wonderful companion! When I first saw her at Super Pet in London, I fell in love with her immediately! I was a little hesitant on bringing her home because I had a 10 year old cat at home, Tom, who I adopted a year earlier. Although I didn't think Tom would like the divided attention, I thought I would take a chance. Mia was taken back to St. Thomas Animal Aide and when I went to pick her up the staff were so welcoming and nice. They made my decision so much easier.

Mia and Tom Well...sadly, Tom passed away 2 weeks after Mia came to live with us. He had cancer, something that I had no control over. Now I realize that Mia was a blessing. I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and I believe this to be a perfect example. I was crushed when Tom died, but am so thankful that Mia was here to make me smile when I didn't think it was possible. Thank you Animal Aide for bringing this little treasure into my life.

Mia's first Christmas I have enclosed a couple of pictures. One is the Christmas email we sent out to our friends, the other is of Mia in her bed and the other is Mia with Tom. Thanks again!!

[Mia was originally rescued by people at the disc golf course in St. Thomas who named her "Niner", since she was found on the ninth hole. They brought her to Animal Aide to find a family. We're thrilled to hear from Mia's new family! - AA]
