Merlin - formerly known as Sampson - writes ...

Merlin Hi everyone: My name is Merlin (as in Merlin the magician)! I was adopted from AnimalAide in St. Thomas on October 11, just a week after someone discarded me by the side of a highway. Boy, did they blow it!

Merlin The AnimalAide humans called me Sampson, but it was too big a name for such a wee furball, so now my name is Merlin. My favourite toys are my new mom's toes and earlobes, the edges of scatter mats, and an endless series of small aluminum foil balls that she makes out of the toybox in the kitchen. (I lose a lot of them under the cupboards.) I make her laugh a lot, and I love to cuddle with her when I poop myself out from playing.

They have a lot of visitors in their cozy little farmhouse in the country, and I make friends with them all. Nothing better than a warm lap and a good set of fingers behind my ears! I'm very gentle and affectionate to everyone: I know a good thing when I see it, and I sure fell into the honeypot here! I love car rides with mom, because it's my only chance to get outside. But I watch the birds and the leaves in the yard, and each day I can jump a little higher and climb a little further. At night I climb into bed with mom and dad, chase their fingers around the quilt for awhile, and then settle down in the crook of mom's neck and wrap myself in her hair for the night.

What a life.

Thanks, AnimalAide, for rescuing me.
