Neeko
Neeko is a male dog who was given up by his previous family.
He had been aggressive with other dogs and small children.
Animal Aide took on the responsibility of finding an
appropriate home for Neeko - a process that took
nearly a year. Now Neeko lives a happy and sociable
life. He plays with other dogs in his neighbourhood
and his new owners LOVE HIM!
Peanut
Peanut is a spayed female cat
found in downtown St. Thomas at the Iron
Horse Festival in 1999 at 6 weeks of age.
She went immediately to a foster home.
It was found that Peanut was born with no hinges
in her jaw - she couldn't open her mouth and
she had an overbite, but she could still eat.
As her teeth grew, they would pierce her tongue.
Peanut was taken to a vet who removed all of her
bottom teeth to prevent them from piercing her
tongue. She grew, and now lives a happy,
healthy, well-fed life!
Millie Pin was a totally wild cat when Animal
Aide received her. Nobody would go near her except for
one person.
Millie was scared and pregnant at the time.
A few weeks
later she had five babies, four of whom died. The
sole survivor was named Lucky.
Slowly Mama Millie (as we called her) became sociable.
Three weeks later, a sad-looking four-week-old kitten
was brought in. We placed her with Millie, and Millie accepted
this wee one named Buttons.
When Lucky was around five weeks old,
two not-even-one-day-old
kittens were brought to us... the vet had called.
Unfortunately, one died, but the other thrived and we
named him Marshmallow. Now Millie had one biological and two
foster babies and she was happy.

Millie was adopted and now lives happily with her new
family. Two out of three of her babies have been adopted -
Lucky and Marshmallow.
Late-breaking news! Buttons (in photo,
left) has finally found a
home! A happy ending for everyone!
